Using Hirsch Organic Powder in Food: Two Simple Recipes

Moringa powder and spirulina blanded drink, woman preparing healthy green detox drink, fruits and vegetables smoothie for wellness and weight loss program. Kitchen and immersion blender

Some people prefer to open our capsules and stir the pure freeze-dried powder into food rather than swallow them whole. It can make starting more gradually feel easier, or simply more natural if you already enjoy organ meats as part of a meal.

We’ve put together two short everyday recipes showing simple ways to do this. Both use the powder from our organic UK beef organ capsules (Liver, Organ Mix or Kidney).

A quick note before you start
If you are new to organ meats, begin with 1–2 capsules and increase gradually. The powder has a strong, natural taste, so it works best mixed into stronger-flavoured foods.

Here are two easy ways to try it:

Golden turmeric porridge

This is a simple, warming autumn breakfast.

You’ll need:

  • Your favourite milk
  • Oats
  • Coconut oil
  • Turmeric powder
  • Black pepper
  • Hirsch Beef Organ powder (from opened capsules)

Method:
Gently melt the coconut oil in a pan, then stir in the turmeric and black pepper.
Add the oats and milk and simmer until creamy.
Remove from the heat and allow it to cool slightly before opening your Hirsch capsules and stirring the powder in.

It is an easy way to add the nutrients to a breakfast you already enjoy.

Creamy butter pâté-style spread

This turns the powder into a simple, pâté-style spread.

Method:
Open your beef organ capsules and tip the powder onto a plate or board.
Add a little of your favourite butter and mix until combined.
Spread onto toast.

It is a different way to enjoy the goodness of organ meats without cooking them.

A few extra tips

  • Mix thoroughly so the powder blends in.
  • Stronger flavours (turmeric, salt, spices, or a nut butter) help balance the natural taste of the organs.
  • Take earlier in the day if you are still getting used to them.
  • Our capsules contain only 100% organic UK grass-fed beef organs, freeze-dried with nothing added, so opening them is perfectly fine.
